They looked over the list of presents the bride and groom had selected as suggestions on the gift registry. There was a lovely set of china. It could be purchased one place setting at a time. The same with the silverware. There were beautiful serving pieces to match the china. The bride had also chosen a fine linen tablecloth and twelve matching napkins in sage green.

The bride-to-be was a gourmet level cook so they checked the cooking utensils on the list. The set of name brand cookware was priced out of their range. Then they spotted a possibly perfect gift. It was a grouping of kitchen knives, one for every possible use under the sun. They thought that might be a suitable gift for the person who loved to cook from scratch.

When they saw a wusthof knife set they agreed that she really loved to chop her vegetables fresh from the farmer’s market. They had been over for dinner many times when they watched her do that. All three of them enjoyed shopping at the outdoor market for fresh vegetables and fruit.

They laughingly decided the bride would think of them every time she chopped carrots or sliced chicken breasts in half to stuff them with something delicious. They both enjoyed her chicken cordon bleu. Let’s look at all of them they said to each other.

Here’s another pretty set one girl said as she examined the picture. It was a henckels knife set. Looking it over carefully, they agreed it was hard to choose because both sets looked sturdy and attractive. We can shop for an hour and come back and decide they agreed.

They went through the entire jewelry department as they usually did. We won’t have to wear pink earrings I hope, they said to each other. We’ll look like live Barbie dolls walking down the aisle, they agreed and broke into laughter.

They still weren’t sure what those awful pink bridesmaid dresses would look like. They hated wearing pink and agreed pink was suitable for little girls and flowers in the garden. The bride should know them well enough to realize how much they would dislike wearing pink dresses. They decided they would refuse to wear pink earrings.

Then, returning to the bridal registry, they looked over all the merchandise again. They decided on a kitchen knife set they both liked. Shortly after that they went back to the bridal registry. After looking for a few minutes they ordered the third kitchen knife set they saw. After checking the guarantee and the brand name, they purchased it using a credit card. Now they could cross it off the gift list and head for home to start dinner.
