Is a Retractable Awning Right For You?
Retractable awnings are simple additions to your home that provide additional shade to your patio or deck area. Makers of retractable awnings design advanced awnings which now come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Even better, motorized retractable awnings allow you to control your awning via remote control.
These retractable awnings can be opened and closed at the touch of a button. Since they are powered with an electrical engine, you do not have to manually crank open the awning every time. Because awnings come in many sizes, you can generally find the exact model to cover your outside living area.
On the other hand, manual crank awnings do the same job as a motorized awning, and will save you money in the meantime. How? These awnings cost less to manufacture, and because they don’t have a motor, they cost less to you. Of course that means extra labor for the homeowner, who then must use a hand crank to open and close the awning. But if there is no need to retract the awning on a regular basis, this option may work out well for you.
Motorized retractable awnings are sold at stores like Wal-Mart, Target and Home Depot. Generally the price is usually good at these retailers, your choice of color and pattern are usually limited. A better option if you are trying to find something specific is to find an awning dealer, or consider buying from the manufacturer.
When shopping for a retractable awning, there are a couple of names that are well known for making quality deck awnings. Probably the name that is the most well known is the Sunsetter brand, with Sunbrella and Durasol being two other well known names. All of these companies offer quality retractable awnings at a decent price. Variety is the name of the game with these manufacturers, as they can provide you several options as far as colors and patterns.
There are several reasons to make that patio a cool place to sit with the ones you love. A retractable awning may be the ticket to a more enjoyable patio area. When you add an awning, you can beautify your porch with the design or color that matches your house.
