Many Dancing With The Stars fans were left in shock last night by the DWTS results. The results of last night’s show were so shocking that some fans are now asking if Dancing With The Stars voting is rigged. Celebrities that have low judges scores are still on the show, which isn’t unheard of, but is unusual. Shannen Doherty, who was solidly in the center of the pack, was eliminated. Did America’s voting really save the stars that seem to need money now, or is it something more questionable?

DWTS Results

The judge scoring on DWTS results would have had Kate Gosselin and Buzz Aldrin fighting it out for a spot on Dancing With The Stars 2010. When the Dancing With The Stars voting was done, the DWTS results had Shannen Doherty and Pamela Anderson at the bottom. With two mid-range judge scores, Shannen Doherty’s fans apparently did not turn out like Pamela Anderson’s to keep her on DWTS. Though one has to wonder – how many hundreds of thousands of votes short of Kate Gosselin did Shannen have to be to be voted off the show?

How DWTS results are tabulated

DWTS results are tabulated on a half-and-half system. Judge scoring counts for half of the DWTS results, call-in votes count for the other half. Put simply, Buzz Aldrin’s moonwalking cha-cha-cha needed twice the call-in votes of Shannen Doherty’s dance. ABC keeps the Dancing With The Stars tabulation formula secret, but the internet loans some theories that it may be rigged.

Dancing With The Stars 2010 voting rigged?

Producers do have quite a bit of say in how DWTS is produced, just like every other “reality” show. Some are starting to wonder if the producers of Dancing With The Stars are now producing the results, too. Before voting, Kate Gosselin was assumed to be the next DWTS elimination. Buzz Aldrin was the other DWTS results “favorite” for elimination, with the biggest point deficit to make up. Pamela and Shannen ended up in the bottom two, though. Are the DWTS producers keeping Kate Gosselin on the show just to increase ratings? Or perhaps the mom-of-eight has enough fans to keep her on the show? What are your thoughts?
